Two more weeks!

The grandkids are coming for a visit.

Two more weeks.

The only thing left to say.....

Fun Friday.

Most Fridays I get to take care of Dylan (grandchild # 3). This weekend he was able to stay over. We got to go shopping, have lunch out, do a little swimming and his favorite, Pizza for dinner. After a much needed bath after said "favorite pizza dinner" we got to snuggle and play a little. Love this kid.

Freedom Concert

Saturday, Mike and I were lucky enough to be able to go to Sean Hannity's Freedom Concert. We had such a good time.

The Charlie Daniels Band
(The Devil Went Down to Georgia)

Lynyrd Skynyrd
(Free Bird, Simple Man &
Sweet Home Alabama)

Michael W. Smith did the best version of "Amazing Grace" I've ever heard.

He also had a beautiful video showing of his song, "There She Stands".

Since 2003, over $10 million has been raised for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund through the Freedom Concerts and generous donations from the Sean Hannity Show and its listeners. The Scholarship Fund is designated for the education of children of U.S. service members who have been killed or 100% permanently disabled in an operational mission or training accident. Freedom Alliance receives all net proceeds from ticket sales and merchandise, aiding greatly in Freedom Alliance's effort to assist hundreds of families who have lost their loved ones while they were protecting and defending our nation and our freedoms.

Oliver North is the founder of the Freedom Alliance.

It makes you appreciate the military service of our men and women as well as their families.

Thank you for your service to our country.

Thank you Oliver North, Sean Hannity, The Charlie Daniels Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Michael W. Smith for putting together this concert fund raiser for such a worthy cause.

Meteor Shower

A group of us (GNO group and friends) spent the night at a cabin in Lake Louisa State Park (it's in Clermont) to see the meteor shower that happens every year on the 12th of August. I've never really done anything like that before and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't looking forward to spending a hot August night staring up at the sky fighting bugs and humidity. But I have to say, I had a great time visiting with friends and at 10:45 p.m. we actually saw a magnificent meteor go by the entire sky. It was beautiful (just like you would see in the movies). We couldn't believe it and were actually questioning what we saw. Later that evening we saw 10 to 20 other meteors further away but the first one was by far the best. Yes, it was hot, humid and the bugs seemed to especially like me but seeing God's splendor was so worth it. I will never forget it.

Thanks Gail for planning everything and talking me into going. You're the best. I had a great time. For any of you who haven't visited Lake Louisa State Park, it is a beautiful park (you may not think you're even in Florida), the cabin are very nice and most importantly, air conditioned.

Who will you follow?

I found a wonderful video on a blog I follow.

Who will you follow?

You can make a difference

Maybe you can't change the world, but for one, you can change their world.
We're hoping to join a group of friends to go to Ethiopia next year to visit our sponsor child, Dege, and serve at the daycenter/school, Trees of Glory. Our hope is to also take a side trip to Korah.

Look what they found in the trash.

Please what the Video from Kelly at Ordinary Hero.

Fun Friday!

Last week I was lucky enough to have Gail, Judy, Jessica and Heidi over for a visit. The lucky part was that I had two of my grandkids, Taylor and Dylan and Jessica and Heidi brought their kids (in age order) Caleb, Hermela, Caroline, Meron, Parker, Brooke, Colton and Jonas. We had a wonderful time and the kids got along great. I'm happy to report that there were no sunburns or injuries and happy/sleepy kids went home that afternoon. Thanks guys for the visit. Can't wait to do it again. We were also blessed to attend Hermela, Meron and Jonas' Dedication at chuch on Sunday. Thanks for inviting us to be part of their special day.

Somehow I managed to get pictures of the kids and not the adults. How does that alway happen? (The date is incorrect on the picture. I've been having trouble with that lately. It should of read 08-06-10)

School already !!!

I can't believe the school year is here. Where did the summer go? Taylor is beginning the 8th grade. High school in one year. When did that happen?

Have a great year at your new school. You'll be busy with classes, cheerleading, making new friends.

Just remember, you'll always be Nana's little girl.
