Prayer Requests

                                                First, we need urgent prayers for Webit.
                                     She is a little girl who attends the care-point at Trees of Glory.

Her sponsor family went to Ethiopia recently because they are in the process of adopting a little boy.  The took a day trip to visit Webit.  They couldn't help but notice that she was limping and in extreme pain.  She had to be carried by her sister to the day center so that she could meet her sponsor family.  She had a deformity on her leg and a bad infection on her foot.

When they returned home, they contacted  Karen  and  Children's Hopechest.  Since then, Hopechest has been navigating the complex process of getting treatment for Webit's injuries and illness.  Because her family is too poor to pay for treatment, Hopechest had to show they could acquire funding for her care.

Here is the note we received from the team in Ethiopia today:
On Friday Webit was admitted to the Hospital and had a successful surgery on her right leg. The doctor was able to cut 10 centimeter bone which bended her leg. They have sent the sample of the bone to Pathological center whether to check it has a tendency to grow again.  According to the doctor the process will take about 20 days. Then they will decide the next step. For now, she is doing well and recovering.

As of today, there is $3,300 in Webit's medical fund and your prayers and concern have made an incredible difference.  Her family is expressing their deep and heart-felt gratitude - they are feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time!

To donate to Webit's medical fund, go to http://www.hopechest.org/

Pray that God gives wisdom to her doctors as they decide her best treatment options.

                                                             Pray for Kiril
                  The following information is from Linny at  "A Place Called Simplicity"
                                      To read more about Kirill, click on her name.
Kirill was found by his mommy and daddy on an adoption list.  They worked feverishly to get all his paperwork in so they could bring him home.  And during that time of working to bring Kirill home they found that Kirill is the first child from his region in Russia EVER to be adopted with Down Syndrome.

A birth mother keeping her child with DS is unheard of in this area of the world. Adoptions of children with DS just don't happen in this region, these children are literally hidden away from society in orphananges and mental institutions. As it turns out Kirill would be a pioneer. If Kirill's adoption was approved, it would pave the way for other children with special needs to be adopted from this region as well.

                        And so just two weeks ago, Kirill's mom and dad were there in
                 Russia headed to court to fulfill the necessary steps to bring Kirill home...

                                                     and they were loving on Kirill....
and after enduring five agonizing hours of difficult questioning before the judge...with strong statements on their behalf from two doctorstwo social workers and the Minister of Children's Services fighting on their and Kirill's behalf...and prepared for the court's stamp of approval,

the Judge gave her ruling:
"Your application to adopt is rejected"
The Judges reasoning:
Kirill is "not socially adaptable" due to his "medical condition" and he is better off in an institution than in a home with a family.
                                      *********************************************
The judge actually went out of the way to tell the family that everything is alright with them and they could adopt a "typical" child.  Linny is asking  for us to "do battle on our knees for Kirill".  The parents are appealing to their Supreme Court.

              They are asking you to pray and fast (one or two meals) on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.

Fun Friday

           Mike and I had to take a trip to Miami  on friday to see a doctor (definitely not the fun part).
                                      It ended early so we decided to go to Miami Beach.
                          I've lived in Florida for most of my life and I've never been to Miami Beach
                                                         and  Mike had never been either.
                         We'd always heard about the Art Deco district so thought we'd take a look.

Spring was in full bloom.

Needless to say,  "Spring Break" was in full swing.  So much for timing.  The weather was very warm and the water was  very cold.  (As you can tell by the people on the beach and the people in the water).

One big difference we saw was the amount of palm trees.  Growing up  in Central Florida we're use to palm trees but they were everywhere.

We asked the locals where the best "go to"  restaurant would be.  We got a very good review of the
 "Big Pink" so we gave it a try.

Filled with locals,  casual decor, delicious food and friendly staff.  What more could you ask for.
It may be a little crowded and loud (I counted 8 TVs) but it was definitely worth it
(A little pricey though)

Around 2:00 we started back.  Would of loved to stay longer but with had we had tickets to:

Ryan and Amber bought me season ticket to the Broadway Series and this is the one I was really looking foward to.   I loved it.  One of the best I have ever seen.
Thanks Bubby.

And if that's not enough, when we got home I opened my email to find the best news.  Jessica and Nick passed court and they are now "officially" the parents of their sixth sweet child.  Meet my new niece,

                                   Rahel Candace

                                      I can't wait till she is home so I can meet her.

      I'd have to say this day was just about perfect.  It definitely brings new meaning to "Fun Friday".

Happy St. Patrick's Day

"May God give you.....
for every storm a rainbow,
for every tear a smile,
for every care a promise
and a blessing for each trial.

For every problem life sends
a faithful friend to share,
for every sigh a sweet song
and an answer for each prayer.

4 hours

On the advise of my husband's former pastor's wife,
Ginny, he ordered this book.  It came in the mail yesterday.  He laid it on my chair and when I came home from work, I sat down in "my chair" to watch the news.  I saw the book and decided to take a quick peek at it and looked forward to reading it this weekend.  Well, four hours later I closed the final chapter.

                                                       All I can say is, I can't wait.

                                                            This is a must read.

                                                               Thanks Ginny

Simple Woman's Daybook

http://thesimplewomansdaybook.blogspot.com//

FOR TODAY

Outside my window the sun is beginning to pop out to what looks like a beautiful day.   Sunny, 70 and cool in Florida is about as good as it gets here.

I am thinking about the people of Japan and the devastation in their country from the terrible earthquake.

I am thankful for a forgiving god, a husband who wants to spend time with me, having kids who call me all the time  and four terrific grandkids who love their Nana.

From the kitchen I think I'll bake a St. Patricks Day treat today.

I am wearing very comfortable gray pjs.

I am creating an Easter Center piece.  It involves two cylinder Vases, gum balls and flowers.  It's super cute and I saw it on a terrific blog here.

I am going to take a drive to the beach this afternoon with my sweetie, hopefully.

I am reading One Thousand Gifts, for a second time. (Awesome)

I am hoping my prayer will be answered about a family members health.

I am hearing my dog and husband (not in that particular order) slowing making the moves of waking up.

Around the house I'm hoping to purge.  My goal is 40 bags in the 40 days of lent.  To purge the clutter of my life so I'm better able to concentrate on my savior.

One of my favorite things is talking to my grandkids.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Purge, making a St. Patricks day treat for the kiddies in my life, cooking healthier for my family, having a GNO this week, spending time with my grandson on Friday.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing:

Thoughful Thursdays

                         People are ofter unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
                                                Forgive them anyway.
                                If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish,
                                      ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
                             If you are successful, you will win some false friends
                                    and some enemines; Succeed  anyway.
                               If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
                                           Be honest and frank anyway.
                                 What you spend years building, someone could
                                        destroy overnight;  Build anyway.
                          If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
                                                   Be happy anyway.
                       The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
                                                    Do good anyway.
                                   Give the world the best you have and it may
                                                      never be enough;
                                     Give the world the best you've got anyway.
                            You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God;
                                  It was never between you and them anyway.
